The Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s Intern Training Program (ITP) is now offering all Guild Interns the opportunity to complete Medication Management Review (MMR) Stage One Training, for FREE!
Through an exclusive agreement with the Australian College of Pharmacy (ACP), the MMR Stage One online course, available through the College, will be provided as an optional extra for all interns enrolled with the Guild ITP.
Free MMR Stage One Training will provide interns with an understanding of the MMR process and prepare interns to undertake Stage Two assessment through the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy (AACP), ultimately leading to accreditation to provide Home Medicines Review (HMR) and Residential Medication Management Review (RMMR) services.
ACP President Chris Owen said he is excited to partner with the Guild ITP in providing the Stage One MMR course to early career pharmacists.
“By completing Stage One MMR Training during their intern year, Guild Interns will be able to assist with the delivery of professional service programs, promote quality use of medicines and contribute to reducing the number of adverse medicine events.
“I am also thrilled to offer Guild Interns access to the College’s broad range of clinical, business and professional practice education to support their Continual Professional Development (CPD) throughout their milestone intern training year,” Mr Owen said.
Pharmacy Guild ITP National Manager, Tim Roberts, said that the course will give enrolees the opportunity to upskill and increase their employability following general registration, all at no extra cost.
“The Guild ITP is committed to ensuring that all Guild Interns are appropriately skilled to practice to their full scope as a pharmacist.
“Guild Intern Pharmacists can also enhance their communication and clinical problem-solving skills by completing the MMR Stage One Training,” Mr Roberts said.
Valued at $259, MMR Stage One Training can be accessed by all current and future Guild Interns, for free.
